What to Expect at Your First Wedding Invitation Appointment

Do I need an appointment to look at wedding invitations?

We do prefer that you make an appointment.

In order to deliver the excellent service that Plandome Paperie is known for, we want to be sure that we reserve time just for you, that our invitation albums are available for you, and that we have a dedicated invitation consultant available to work with you.

We have a busy retail store in addition to our wedding invitation business, we may be busy if you stop by out of the blue and we want to be sure we have a chance to treat you with the time and care that you deserve.

How long is a first appointment?

For your first appointment with Plandome Paperie, we reserve a two-hour time slot for you to meet with one of our invitation consultants.

This will give us enough time together to get familiar with all of the various options and then start the process of creating the perfect invitation.

When your appointment is confirmed, we will send you a link to an online Wedding Questionnaire that we ask you to complete and submit to us at least two days prior to your appointment. {It’s quick and easy ~ and will save us time while at your appointment in order to get to the fun part of invitation creation!}

What can I expect during my first appointment?

During your appointment, we go over your vision for your wedding and discuss your options. We spend some time telling you about the various printing methods available for wedding invitations. We show you as many samples of invitation designs as you’d like for inspiration and to serve as a starting point.

We’ll also tell you about ways that you can customize these designs with typestyles, ink colors, motifs, patterns, backers, pocket folds, and envelope liners.

We talk about design, pricing, and etiquette. If, for some reason, we don’t know the answer to the question, we will find out promptly and get back to you.

Some clients fall in love with something they see and design their invitation, and place their order during the first appointment. Others, they want to see all of the available options, narrow their choices and come back a second {or third} time to finalize their design. Either way is perfectly fine with us.

After the first appointment, we can do a lot by phone, email and online. We work with clients all over the globe, so shipping and working remotely are not a problem.

What if I need to change or cancel my appointment?

Since we only have a limited number of appointments available, and are holding this two-hour time slot just for you, we ask that you please {pretty please} let us know at least 48 hours in advance if you need to reschedule your appointment so that we can free up that time for another client.
